Description
Meet your guide at the Abrahamsberg tube station (green line) at 9:00 and begin your walking tour.
Together with your guide, you will be stopping at three rune stones and two grave fields from the Iron Age. The guide will explain the Viking alphabet. You will then help each other to decrypt the rune stones. You will be surprised how close todays English language is to the Swedish language from the Viking time.
This is a strong feeling of acting archeologist and helping each other to decrypt the rune scripts! Your will be given a short explanation of the history of the time.
Walking further, the group will be passing two grave fields, where the group will stay for explanations and feeling the weight of time. The tour will take place mostly in an urban area, also passing though green areas and a lake with rich bird life. You will make a pause by a charming lake, surrounded by a rich bird life, and enjoy a “fika” (cinnamon roll and tea/coffee). There is no proper toilette on this tour, we need to hide behind a stone or tree to do what we need to do :). End your tour by the tube station Islandstorget (green line).
